Other work has delayed the first outing of the Headshot Van, but last week it made its debut and I’m rather happy with the results in spite of the hideously hot weather and a couple of no-shows. The big win is that the concept works, the controlled lighting in the van combined with a real background far away gives a very high quality but also natural look to the photos. Not as windswept as location portraits can often be, but also not as staged as studio setups often are. Also a bonus is having somewhere to get changed and to leave spare clothes or gear when not in use.
